Why another dang music blog?

Yes I know. There are probably MILLIONS of music blogs by people just like myself but here I am anyway. It's real simple. I love music. I love seeing live music. I live in Austin, TX and I see more bands during SXSW and ACL than most people might see in an entire year unless they are a festival goer like myself.

I am not a critic, I am not special and my only intention is to document the large amount of bands I see each year in this town and share relatively new and really good bands by way of Q&A posts so I can share a little more about that particular band.  Just think of me as a friend and friends share music they like. I'm the type of friend that shares really good music so if you are in the car with me, I will totally put on my new favorite band or song so you can listen.  That is basically what I am doing here but online.

Hopefully for any fans of the particular bands I am going to write or post about, they can find a little bit more information on them. I enjoy the Q&A posts most and that is what I like to focus on. There will be an occasional quick post about a great track that just came out, but with my limited time right now I enjoy learning more about my favorite bands and asking them questions.

Bands just starting out are much more approachable as well and I will probably only post about well known bands if I go see them live at a show. If you are an up and coming new band or artist in the alternative genre - which you can tell from my posts my range of what I like is quite wide.  I really enjoy anything that just sounds unique and different - so send me an e-mail if that is your band! I'm always open for listening to new music and I will absolutely share if I like it.

I hope you get something out of this blog and if not that's ok, too. This is just my little personal online music journal, it is something I enjoy doing regardless if someone reads it or not.

I have since changed my blog layout so my description is no longer listed. You ask was does WAALT stand for? It's a corny acronym - Wendy's All ALTernative music blog.
