A SOCIAL STATE

A Social State is a indie rock band out of Scranton, PA. Edward Cuozzo is on lead vocals and guitar, Jon Fletcher on bass guitar and back up vocals, CJ Williams on lead guitar and Nick Ogonosky on drums. They have been together as a band for five years. 

If you took the vocal melodies of Manchester Orchestra, the musicality of Brand New and the energy of Nirvana, you would have something close to A Social State. 

I really like their sound...reminds me of some good post grunge but still able to remain fresh and relevant for today. I caught up with Ed and asked a couple of questions regarding their goals this year as a band and who they would love to play with. 

This year they will be releasing their second full length LP, How to get to Heaven produced by Steven Haigler. The album will be out in late August or early September. (Their first album is on Spotify if you want to go check it out!)

Aside from releasing their album other goals for this year as a band are to get back to touring this summer, get signed to an indie label and grow their fan base. 

If they had a dream tour they would be opening for Nada Surf, Brand New or Nirvana.
