Some bands make you want to turn the volume up immediately. Dallas Wax is one of those bands.

The New York City five-piece features Ryan Dallas Wax (vocals/guitar), Matt Stawinski (guitar), Fons "Alfonso" Urbaneja (bass), Owen Hite (keyboards), and Gabriel Seiler (drums).

Dallas Wax isn't trying to recreate classic rock, they sound like they're having a blast expanding on it. Pulling from glam, garage rock, blues, and psychedelia, the band blends vintage influences into something that feels fresh rather than nostalgic. Their songs are packed with memorable riffs and the kind of infectious energy that seems tailor-made for a festival crowd.

Fresh off the release of their debut album, Metanoia, the band is spending the year on the road before making their Austin City Limits debut this October. If you're discovering them for the first time, "Bluff" is a great place to start. I have a feeling this one is going to be a standout in their live set.
