ACL Festival 2026 - Rum Jungle

RUM JUNGLE (W2)

RIYL: Ocean Alley • Spacey Jane • Lime Cordiale

If Ocean Alley had you smiling through their set last year at ACL, Rum Jungle deserves a spot on your schedule this year.

The Newcastle, Australia quartet has a gift for writing songs that feel instantly familiar without sounding predictable. Their mix of shimmering guitars, memorable melodies, and sun-soaked indie rock creates the kind of soundtrack that's equally at home on a road trip, at the beach, or with the windows down on the drive home.

Rum Jungle is made up of Benny McIntyre (vocals/guitar), Josh Giles (guitar), Michael Kolmajer (bass), and Frazer McDonald (drums). Since forming in 2017, they've steadily built a loyal fanbase before breaking through with their debut album, Recency Bias. Their latest music continues to refine their sound while keeping the infectious hooks that made people pay attention in the first place.

If you're discovering Rum Jungle for the first time, start with "Everything Is Easy." It captures everything that makes the band so enjoyable: warm melodies, irresistible guitar work, and a chorus you'll probably still be humming an hour later. From there, check out tracks from their latest album release, Marginalia"Lowlife," "Quiet When You're Listening" and "What's Next."

Rum Jungle feels like one of those bands that could quietly steal a weekend at ACL. They may not be the biggest name on the lineup, but I wouldn't be surprised if plenty of people leave their set wondering why they hadn't discovered them sooner.
