SNOW STRIPPERS
Snow Strippers turn the reckless rush of late-2000s club music into something hazier, darker and strangely emotional. The duo of Tatiana Schwaninger and Graham Perez pairs euphoric trance synths and blown-out dance beats with detached vocals that can feel both intimate and completely out of reach. After building a cult following online and translating that intensity into their frantic live shows, they will bring their high-energy electronic world to ACL Festival in a few short months.

👂First Impression:
My first reaction was that Snow Strippers sound like a memory of a club night rather than the club night itself. The beats are immediate and physical, but the vocals float above them with a distant quality. It creates an addictive push and pull: music designed to make you move while still carrying a sense of longing, isolation and emotional damage underneath the surface.

“Together” feels like the best doorway into their 2022 self-titled album. The beat surges forward, but the track never loses its ghostly atmosphere. Tatiana Schwaninger’s vocals feel half present and half disappearing into the production, giving the song an emotional tension that keeps it from becoming just another club track. It is euphoric and easy to replay, which is the Snow Strippers formula at its most effective.
🎼What I Hear:
There are obvious comparisons to Crystal Castles, especially in the collision of distorted electronics, fragile vocals and a deliberately rough-edged aesthetic. But Snow Strippers pull just as much from trance and big-room EDM as they do from electroclash or witch house. Their melodies can sound almost sentimental before the production crashes back in, and that contrast gives the songs their emotional weight. The result feels nostalgic without simply recreating the past.
💿The Evolution:
The 2022 album collected the early version of the Snow Strippers sound across a sprawling 20 tracks. Since then, the April Mixtape series and Night Killaz releases have sharpened their identity, pushed the production harder and expanded their audience. Collaborating with Lil Uzi Vert brought additional attention, but the core formula was already present on the self-titled record: classic dance melodies, distorted impact, dreamlike vocals and a complete visual world built around the music.
💭 WAALT Take:
Snow Strippers may be labeled chaotic from the outside, but the music is more carefully balanced than the image suggests. Their songs work because the rush never completely erases the sadness underneath it. At ACL, that combination should translate into one of the weekend’s most unpredictable electronic sets: part rave, part underground spectacle and part emotional release.
